Amherst Feminist Generation

Amherst Feminist Generation is the local chapter of the national, youth-led organization fighting for intersectional gender equality. Primarily made up of students at Amherst Regional High School, FemGen has organized multiple walkouts, a flash-mob, and many other events. FemGen is currently working on a project about menstrual equity, planning an art event for younger children, and recently got a grant from the League of Women Voters to do civic engagement work. FemGen comes out with a biweekly newsletter and welcomes members ages twelve to thirty.

Apartheid-Free Western MA

There is no greater apartheid than war on the soul of humanity. Apartheid societies justify genocide, ethnocide, and ecocide, while apartheid-free communities unite under the Apartheid-Free Pledge to end Israel’s apartheid regime, US funded military occupations, and settler colonialism. Systems of violence and oppression must be dismantled for ALL to flourish. Apartheid-Free Western MA calls us to live into the unifying principle that All people deserve to live with dignity and respect. Get involved to support a social and ethical investment policy coming to towns near you. Visit the Global Village Festival April 11, 2026 at the Amherst High school from 10-5pm. Back from the Brink

Back from the Brink is a national campaign that started here in the Valley that calls for the US enter now into negotiations with the other 8 nuclear armed states for a verifiable, enforceable agreement to eliminate their nuclear arsenals according to a negotiated time line.  Our Congressional Resolutions in the US House (H. Climate Action Now Western Mass

Climate Action Now Western Mass was created in 2012 as a community response to the growing environmental catastrophe. An all-volunteer group, we are dedicated to building a powerful climate justice movement through organizing, action and public education. Our grassroots community is connected by our passion to preserve a livable world and create a more just society; our vision is to provide a home for all people in our area engaged in climate justice work and campaigns so that we can mutually support and strengthen all of our efforts. The non-profit Traprock Center for Peace and Justice has worked to end war and militarism since 1978, and addresses gender, racial, economic and environmental justice issues locally and beyond, with an emphasis on youth.
Our committed board of directors works for peace and social and ecological justice through various programs, projects and partnerships with others. In 2026 our programs include support for Apartheid-Free Communities in Western Mass., the Climate & Democracy Project, Racial Justice Rising and the peace-oriented summer Journey Camp. On May 12, Traprock and the Interfaith Council of Franklin County will honor ‘Young Peacemakers’, teens from Franklin County, for their social justice accomplishments in schools, churches or wider community. We are planning to show ‘Earth’s Greatest Enemy’ in Franklin County and want to cooperate with other groups and people inspired by this film to educate and mobilize at this time of war, political repression, climate and biodiversity crisis. Veterans For Peace

Veterans For Peace is a global organization of Military Veterans and allies whose collective efforts are to build a culture of peace by using our experiences and lifting our voices. We inform the public of the true causes of war and the enormous costs of wars, with an obligation to heal the wounds of wars. Our network is comprised of over 140 chapters worldwide whose work includes: educating the public, advocating for a dismantling of the war economy, providing services that assist veterans and victims of war, and most significantly, working to end all wars.
